The former Shisei Kan Dojo Karate School hosts the project for the Cenarte offices in Seville. An intervention that meets the specific needs as a workspace for this agency specializing in MICE services, through the balance between economic and energy efficiency, respectful preservation of industrial preexistence, and space-time flexibility.
From the premise of “making a city within a city,” the project chooses to materialize through the succession of semi-public spaces and secret gardens. In this context, office modules intertwine with green spaces and small squares, generating a symbiosis between work life, team relationships, and the surrounding vegetation. This approach aims to create an inspiring work environment while making a significant contribution to the development of a constantly evolving work ecosystem.
The project shares the logic of a matryoshka in multiple dimensions. Not only does it embrace the metaphor in a physical and tangible sense, where structures intertwine and incorporate each other, creating a sort of layered architecture, but it also extends to a temporal dimension, where each phase of the project unfolds as an experience within another. Thus, the original structure and container, an industrial warehouse of approximately 400 m², with a metal structure and typical facade of this suburban area of the city of Seville, has been preserved intact, respecting its previous history as a karate school.
